Basingstoke v's Maidstone Areas to Move to

I have found a house in Shepway North off the Sutton Road in Maidstone and also a house in Basingstoke near town. I am trying to decide which has more entertainment in the evenings and amenities in terms of shops and gyms, leisure facilities.

Can anyone help?
