Hi all,

I just wondered if anyone could recommend any friendly baby and toddler groups in Brighton. It would useful if they were suitable for bringing a baby and a toddler along to together.

Many Thanks

I live near preston park. The problem with Dorothy stringer playgroup is that it is in the afternoon and my toddler is still having his nap.

You should definately try Carden Tots. It's a parent and toddler group that is open Monday to Friday 9am-3pm. It's only a couple of miles away from Preston Park in Hollingbury. If you are on Carden avenue traveling up towards Adsa, turn right AFTER Carden School in to Carden Hill, then first left in to the Old Boat Corner Community Centre. There is also a play park outside but its a bit run down.

Carden Tots is open to 0-5 year olds during term-time and you can stay as long as you like until 3pm. Costs £1 per child over 6 months, and £1.50 per adult. Coffee and tea is free and also squash.

Friday mornings are really good as there is singing and story time at 10:30am. Also Monday at 10:30 is Messy time.

I could go on but come and see for yourself. My name is Julie and I am there a lot and have met lots of friends there over the last few years.

There is on at the Salvation Army in five ways on Monday afternoons at 1.30.

Another at 9.30 at St Nicholas Church on Dyke Road on Tuesdays £1.50(I like this one a lot)

Another at the Tarner Children's Centre in Ivory Place, Brighton on Tuesdays and Fridays at 1.30.

And Thursdays at the Crypt Church on Dorset Road at 10.30 on Thursdays.

All of these I go to and are very friendly.

My name is Lollie your more than welcome to contact me if you need any more info or want someone to go with. My ds is 1 in 2 weeks.

Try starting a new thread, Sophie. You might get more response! I can't help I'm afraid- my DS is too young.
