Moving To Birmingham?

Hello everyone, me and my husband are currently
living in Manchester and we are ready to start our
little family. But first we are looking to buy a
"forever" home somewhere nice in Birmingham
We've been to the town centre a couple of times
and we felt like home. Plus it's close-ish to
London (2)
However we haven't heard many nice things
about Birmingham and wanted to find out from
anyone who lives there if it's worth the move and
recommend some areas we could grow our
family.
We currently have decent jobs and our budget for
our home is currently £400K.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

There are some nice suburbs. I’m in Harborne, about a ten minute drive from the city centre. We have a nice high street with some good pubs and restaurants. Public transport is pretty good and we’re close to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Bournville is also nice, this is where Cadbury World is situated. There are also nice parts of Halesowen and Oldbury, just outside Brum but you’ll get a lot more for your money there. Sutton Coldfield is lovely but a bit pricey.
Birmingham has changed a great deal over the last few years, the centre has had a major facelift and as you probably saw when you visited there’s a lot to see and do. Hope this helps. I’m sure you’ll get some good advice on here from people living in different areas
