The Guildford Karate Club is a Community based Karate Club established in 1974. The Guildford Karate Club currently operates out of Saint Clare’s Church Centre, Southway, GU2 8LF.
Karate is very specific in its teaching of Self Discipline, Appreciation of others, and promoting awareness on obligations of Self and to Community, the disciplined structure of the Class has enabled a facility of channelling excess energy and motivation into a practical end product hence we are sought out by many parents to enable their children of whom are not Team Sport motivated. Karate has enabled these members of the community to participate in this specialised activity to achieve their own individual goals (Belts) safely and practically.
As we are now seeing more children being home schooled these children are able to access and appreciate the importance a class structure has on developing self-discipline, thus enabling these children to mix with other’s. By involving these Children in the Karate Club Class disciplined structure it is a way of integrating them Safely into the Local Community and Wider Society by preparing them to minimize the risk of bullying and being bullied, the strict Club Rules and Disciplines can be a deterrent to being involved in inappropriate behaviour.

Guildford Karate Club is devoted to enriching the lives of the local community by producing highly motivated and accomplished members of society. Tournaments are a fantastic way of channelling children, teens and young adults to obtain a competitive edge. The Guilford Club has produced many national and international competitors, Podium Medallist’s and ultimately champions. The Guildford Karate Club has in the past fundraised to take two members to India where there was very stiff competition in both numbers and skillsets but both members achieved Gold Medals, Katrina Wilson winning Female Kata Gold Medal & Jack Franklin Winning two Gold Medals, Men’s Kata & Men’s Kumite. Due to their commitment and dedication to training, support is always welcome to assist our members in achieving more and paving the way for other Guildford Karate Club Members to follow.
