Old palace school

Hi,

My daughter got an offer from old palace into year 7 and we are considering whether to accept or not?
Any other parents have any experience with this school?

She got an award and hence has got a discount on fees. Can we negotiate on this further with the school?

Not many local to Croydon area on Mumsnet @Dovek19. most mums are centered around SW and W. South East and East no.

Anyway, our DD goes to Old Palace and we couldn't be happier. It has a very traditional feel, but the staff are very caring and she loves it. It has a nice mix of students, most parents are professional working types, very friendly.

It recently came in the top 30 Indie schools in London and when compared to state schools in Croydon, it has great results. The prep campus is set in leafy South Croydon, the girls have so much space and playing fields, the senior school is in the more busy central Croydon, but its a beautiful historic building. They have well stocked libraries, swimming pool, music rooms and as I said , it has a feel of a traditional public school, but with a warm pastoral care.

Joining the Whitgift foundation has meant Old Palace has access to obscene amounts of cash. If you're worried about paying fees, I'd sit down and speak to them what's available, they have an extensive bursary program , provided your family earn 80 grand or less a year, you may get help and Scholarships may be combined with Bursaries

Yes we did visit the school and loved the staff. Also we found the girls there genuinely happy to be in the school.
