No David Lloyd, what’s available?

Hi Winchester locals, wanting to relocate to Winchester but I notice there is no David Lloyd or Nuffield. Is there an alternative for group exercise classes in nice surroundings. This is important for my sanity. That one time when I can exercise, have a coffee and recharge. Thought a place like Winchester should have something similar. Please share.

Winchester pilates in middle brook street is great for both mat classes and studio pilates. There's New energy gym and yoga studio nearby too.

Dear southchinasea, Thank you for the suggestions. I will look them up. With working from home my local david lloyd doubles up as an office and social place. The best investment I have made in my self. Want to come to Winchester but don’t want to give the me time up. Thanks for the suggestions.

There are lots of lovely independent cafes in Winchester. Not so much a combined gym with cafe/ social space I don't think. There's Winchester hotel and spa for swimming or Winchester college gym and pool. Nice cafes include Rawberry, the Cabinet rooms, Dispensary kitchen and the Orangery - lots of places around the Square, Parchment street and Jewry street. Long barn at Alresford is gorgeous for shopping and coffee too.

One of my colleagues went to orange theory which I think is part of DL. I live in a very rural village near Winchester and go to DL in west end which is only 10 minutes away.

Thank so much ladies, you know when you spend years running after kids and work you suddenly decide that you need to look after yourself too. I am fitter now than we when I was younger, It’s taken me until the last two years to block out exercise time. I find it easier in a group class otherwise I find reason to be on my phone instead of the exercise machine. Looks like the energy gym and local cafes will meet the needs.
Eeyorepigletandpooh, which villages would you suggest near the West End David Llloyd? We have a house viewing this weekend in Twyford. We are considering Pilgrims or Farleigh schools for DC.

Twyford is lovely but avoid the main road as it gets busy and is narrow. I don’t know about schools I’m afraid although my friends sends her boys to twyford private school and is very happy with it. Owlesbury is more rural as is Upham/lower upham.
