We wanted to ask for the advice of the community regarding moving to East Lothian. We currently live in Morningside and we like it very much and the multi nationality in the area makes it very interesting , however our 2 bedroom flat is clearly getting smaller for us and the kids (2). We were recommended to research the areas of East Lothian, mainly Haddington, Gullane, Longniddry, North Berwick and Dunbar. The housing is a bit better than in Edinburgh South (especially in Haddington and Longniddry) and it is not too far from Edinburgh. We do not have to commute so everyday trips to Edinburgh would not be necessary. We have also read that schools are pretty good in Haddington and North Berwick. How is life for families with young kids in the area? Are there enough activities for them (swimming, football, judo, etc) ? And more importantly, how easy is to get along with other families in similar situation?
