Buying a House in Cheltenham

Hello

I am buying a house and saw one in Cheltenham in Stone Crescent at the weekend. It was nice but has been for sale since early December which is unusual in the current market. It was a lovely house in a nice cul de sac near all amenities, just unsure about Cheltenham generally.

Do people normally have to commute to find work? I'm an IT contractor so work changes every so often but I don't want to work in another town where I have to commute 2 hours a day.

I'm also considering areas around Reading as that's a big IT hotspot, including Didcot and Bicester, although these places themselves don't have much going on and I may get bored 😐.

Budget is 350-365 so Reading and Oxford are not affordable for a 3 bed semi!
