I realise there have been a few 'moving to Letchworth' threads so sorry to be another!
I'm currently living in the the north, but I need to move down to near Hitchin. Realistically most places are way out of my budget, but Letchworth seemed lovely when I visited. Lots of fresh air/green spaces, decent amount of shops, and cute black squirrels!
I'm just a little concerned re schools? Wilbury area looks to be in my price bracket and I've seen a nice house but the school's ofsted looks worrying. While I've got a few years before I'd be looking at places, it worries me it that it might put off others too, and I'd really like to live in a very familiy friendly area? I'm definitely not looking for 'keeping up with the joneses' area, I'd just like down to earth friendly people at the park, school gate etc..
Would very much value any thoughts about why schools seem to be an issue, or if they're lovely and just not ofsted-hoop places.
