After a short and painfully emotional 11 months my daughters ventilater was turned off and she can now rest in peace. I pray I could find peace. As I still have a 9year old and the 11 month old twin sister, I wish it was that easy my other half left me 5 weeks ago and I am feeling very isolated. I would love to met some people from the Durham area. I want to start a new year and new life getting back on my feet and getting a life. Im not from Durham and dont really know anyone. I would love to here of some friendly Baby and toddler groups!

Just seen your post, sorry you haven't had many replies as I don't think many people check the 'local' section.

So so sorry to hear about the death of your daughter. You must be finding it so hard, and I have no idea what you are going through. I don't know if you've already posted in the Miscarriage/Bereavement section but you would get a much better response there from people with similar experiences.
As for local groups, I used to go to the NCT Bumps and Babies session at St Cuthbert's Church (North End) on a Tuesday morning. I'm sure thet have something similar for older children, as your DD is probably leaving babyhood! On a less organised note Vennels cafe (near Waterstones) is always full of mums.

Have just noticed your partner has left too. Coming on top of everything else it must be so hard to cope with. Please don't let yourself feel isolated. Where abouts in Durham are you? I'm about 6 miles west of the city. Do you have any family nearby?

Oh summer- I really feel for you. Don't live near, but am thinking of you. My friend lost her 9 month old baby- you must be feeling unbearable.
What a positive thing to say that you want to star anew year and life- you must be a very strong woman.

Hi Summersun,
Maybe this sounds like too little, too late, but I saw your other thread and thought about you all through Christmas. Knowing that I live near you, I kept thinking, what can I do? I hadn't seen this thread tho, as I never check the local section.
I live East of Durham, whereabouts are you?

Hi Summersun. I take my two daughters. (2 and 13 months) to some lovely groups in Durham. We live in Newton Hall.
Tuesday morning - 9.30 til about 11.30 there's a group meets at the Church Hall at Neville's Cross, (so sorry, I can't remember what it's called - if you're travelling from Ushaw Moor it's kind of straight across the cross roads)... I'm sounding like a blithering idiot here.
Erm, Wednesday is our favourite group - TIDDLYWINKS at the Sands in Durham. If you fancy going to that and you don't know where it is, let me know and may be we could meet somewhere in Durham that we both know and go in together... (9.30 - 11.30)
Thursday, 10 til about 11.30, Antioch House in Durham city - lovely group. This is on on a Friday too but I usually go to a Steiner group on Friday morning again in Durham city centre, St Margaret's church Hall.
If you want any more info just ask!
You can mail me at mark dot fay at tesco dot net if you like!!!!
TAKE CARE.

Fay
