Recommendations for family friendly areas in Cardiff

We are considering moving from Bristol to Cardiff for a school that we like. We live in the Bishopston / Horfield area of Bristol and like that we have access to several parks, also local shops, and leisure activities. So are looking for something similar. Our budget is around 380k for a 3 bed. If anyone has any recommendations we would very much appreciate advice.
Thank you!

Radyr, Danescourt, Whitchurch are family friendly places with good schools. I would look at the local schools to guide you. Avoid Ely, Llanrumney, Rumney

Agree with areas above. Whitchurch might suit. Although if you want access to multiple parks and facilities Roath, Pen y Lan and Heath areas are good too. Family houses tend to be very expensive there due to school catchments. Or Pontcanna, llandaff in the other side of the city similarly close to lots going on and big park.

Radyr and Tongwynlais a bit further out with less amenities on the doorstep but easy access to woods, canal etc for walking and close to M4 and main roads to get round quickly.
