Working Mum and commuting and Walton-on-Thames

Hi. We don't actually live in Walton yet but we're hoping to move there with our little boy (11 months) next summer. I work four days a week in London, and I wondered whether any other mums did the commute, and how it works for them. I live in London at the moment and so get back from work in plenty of time for his bath and bedtime. Are there other mums who have managed to combine being at work and commuting and seeing their baby in the evenings!?

Hi there,
I work 3 days a week and get the train to Waterloo after dropping off at nursery. I have been doing this for 3 years now, 2 other mums also do this and they then get the tube from Waterloo further into London. As far as I am aware we are all back in Walton before 6pm, so I guess it does work. Whereabouts will you be working and what nursery are you using? We get the 8.17 from Hersham (its easier than Walton for parking & traffic) and then we are at Waterloo for 8.45 and then coming back I get the 5.02 and pick up at 5.35pm. So it works really well. There is very rarely any issues on the trains with cancellations etc. Anyway let me know if you need anything else or you want to know about nurseries?
