Preston park - am I missing something?

Hi,

We're looking to move out of London as we can't afford to buy where we want ( Clapham ) One of the top places on our list is Preston park. We love how close it is to the sea, great schools, easy commute etc. One thing that lets it down for me is the lack of cafes/coffee shops/cute shops. Have we missed this part of Preston park or do you head into Brighton for that kind of thing?

Thanks x

Haven't been there for ages so can't comment on local facilities but Preston Park is part of Brighton really so I imagine people just go into the centre. It's a couple of minutes on the train or a few minutes on the bus.

Lots of cafes at Fiveways, just up the road, with some independent shops too.

Agree you need to look more at Fiveways, which isn’t too far from PP.

There's lots if you walk down the London Road. The park itself has two cafes, there's a Costa up at the Sainsbury's near Preston Park station and a sandwich place a few doors down. There's also quite a few independent shops around Beaconsfield Villas down to Preston Circus.
