Baby signing class in Chelmsford

Hi there. I don't know if I'm allowed to "advertise" on this board but thought I'd try and see what happens!
I'm a Speech and Language Therapist (and mum to two little boys) and I'm starting a new 5 week baby signing class in the Moulsham area of Chelmsford in January.
It's going to be a mixture of singing, stories, puppets, games and toys, as well as coffee and cake for the grown-ups.
We'll be using signs based on British Sign Language - it'll help your little ones to communicate before they can use speech, reducing tantrums (hooray!)...plus it actually helps bring on their spoken language skills.
The sessions last an hour and the cost is 4.50 per family per session, or 20.00 for all five sessions.
If you would like to come along, let me know and I'll provide more details.
Thanks!
Liz x

Liz, my baby is nearly 13 weeks, would that be too young for the classes? If not could you please send me details?

Hi there Minty - sorry it's taken ages to reply,I haven't checked here for a few weeks! Yes your 13 week old would be very welcome to come along - there are a couple of other 2 month olds in the group, and even a six week old!

The baby group (0-12 months) is at 9.40 at St John's Church Hall, Vicarage Road, Moulsham - if you know where Dovedales Nursery is, it's opposite there (back of Chelmsford College), a couple of doors down from Oaklands Infant School.

The session lasts an hour, and the cost is 4.00 per session. There's a different theme each week, and information pack and handouts included. You also have twenty minutes at the end for coffee, cake and chat while the little ones play with toys or sleep!

Lots of puppets, songs, props, etc, so plenty for your little one to look at, and you'll be able to pick up the signs so you can use them regularly at home.

I hope this is of interest to you and it'd be great to see you on Monday - just come and see if you like it!

Let me know if you have any other questions.
Liz

Hi Jammy. My son will soon be 12 months and has previously been to a BSL sign class apprx 5 months ago. Do you do any classes suitable during Wed-Fri,close to Army and Navy area? We would love to 'further his education'!! Best wishes.

Hi there Booty. No I'm afraid I don't do any classes other than the Monday ones at the moment. Perhaps you could try Sing and Sign (or have you already tried that?)...
But if I do start up further ones I'll let you know!
