Buying house near reading

Hello All,

I need some guidance. I am currently in Southampton and moving near Reading area so that I can buy house and settle somewhere near to good primary and secondary schools that include grammar schools.
I will be required to travel few days in week to
Southampton for work and few days in month to Paddington.
Hence,I thought Reading would be the closest for settling considering good schools and connectivity to london though I was also thinking maidenhead, highwycombe and marlow but they would be far from southampton..

Please let me know if you have any thoughts on the city to buy home and settle considering my situation above , my daughter is in Year 1 right now.

The Caversham area of Reading has lots of good primary schools. Can’t comment on secondary schools as I grew up in Bucks where all children do the 11+ (not the case in Reading). High Wycombe has good grammar schools if you end up in that area

Dont rely on getting into the grammar school in Reading, I know the boys grammar is really really really hard to get into and the girls (Kendrick) is as well. I'm not staying don't try but have a good comprehensive catchment backup.
