Hello to all Parents & Parents-to-be,
My name is Pete Austin, and I am currently training to be a Music Therapist on the MA Music Therapy course at Roehampton University.
A key part of our training is the study of infant development, and in particular the way relationships develop between parents and infants.
The best way to learn about this is through personal observation.
This means me visiting a family for one hour a week, for a period of 10 weeks, starting anytime between October 2021 and January 2022.
As such, I am currently looking for a family in Kent that would be happy to volunteer.
Ideally, the infant should be between 3 and 6 months of age by the time the sessions commence.
The family does not need to put themselves out at all aside from agreeing upon a regular visiting time each week. During the weekly sessions, I would simply sit quietly and observe the normal family interactions between infant and parents.
If you would like to volunteer or would simply like to ask questions, please do get in touch.
In terms of references, I can provide a letter from Roehampton University and an up-to-date Enhanced DBS certificate for your reassurance.
Anyone considering volunteering may also contact Roehampton University directly regarding the process, and I can provide contact details should you wish to do so.
Thank you.
Pete Austin
