Moving to Oxford from LOndon

Please help! We are moving to Oxford from London, and have seen a lovely house in Cowley, in white street. Please can you tell me if this is a good area for young families? Many thanks!

I would say not. It’s a tired area surrounded by industrial parks and a couple of very rough estates. Try looking further west, closer to the Churchill Hospital/Headington way.

I'd agree that more headington/ marston borders perhaps a bit better.

Northway is a bit hit and miss, some interesting neighbours... but this house is in catchment of 2 good primary schools (new marston, and st Joseph's), is really handy for the hospital (! If kids are accident prone!), has some nice play parks, good bus links to town, easy access to ring road and also is the London side of town if you're ever popping back to London.

Headington has some good shops and a nice little library, so could walk to most things. Excellent park there too (bury knowle).

Marston has a couple of handy local shops, and a fantastic chip shop ;)

No idea of your budget, but if you can't quite afford the very desirable north oxford/ summertown, I'd go headington/ marston :)

Our budget is 475K, and we have three kids, so we are looking to find a house that is near a good primary school with family friendly neighbours.
