It is at this special time of year that we invite our wonderful community to dedicate a light in remembrance of their loved one. These lights will shine brightly on our beautiful Christmas tree at Dorothy House, Winsley. This also marks the start of our Light up a Life appeal

Dedicating a light on our Christmas tree is a way to remember those we hold so dear. These kind donations ensure other patients and families are able to receive the outstanding care they need now. Each light is a beacon of hope that shines out into our community, for our community.
The kindness and generosity of our supporters is integral to the ongoing care of this community.
The effects of the pandemic mean your help is needed now more than ever. We are also delighted to offer our supporters the opportunity to attend one of our Services of Light. We are very much looking forward to sharing these services with our community. A community who we are so grateful for and who have continued to give us such unwavering support through this difficult period.
This year we will be holding two daytime services in the grounds of Dorothy House, Winsley on Sunday 21 November at 12 noon and 3pm respectively (government guidelines permitting). This will include the switching on of the lights on our beautiful Christmas tree. Numbers for these services are limited and places can be reserved by signing up for a free ticket here:

Our 12 noon service will also be available through a live stream on the day. At 7pm there will be a live stream of the Christmas Tree on our Facebook page, so those who are unable to attend the service can see the dazzling tree, sparkling in all its glory.

Please note that all of our services are now operating a ticket only entry system. We are asking supporters to reserve a free ticket for our services via Eventbrite. For those that do not have internet access please call 01225 721480 between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and we will be happy to reserve your tickets over the phone.
All Services across our community will begin at 6pm with the exception of our Winsley Services.

Each year during the Light up a Life Appeal and Services I am privileged to see the dedication messages written in remembrance of loved ones. We also see many of these messages thanking our clinical staff for their wonderful care and support. It is such a heartfelt reminder of why hospice care is so important and what this care means to our local community. This time of reflection and remembrance is invaluable and I look forward to welcoming people this year at one of our many Services of Light.
