Thinking of relocating to Sevenoaks any advice?

Hello this is my first post in years! I've been out of the country for a while and about to relocate back to the UK. We are thinking of moving to Sevenoaks, we used to live in South East London. I have 3 boys youngest is 12 and the middle one is 15 and the oldest one is university. we are looking for a nice, safe, lovely environment with great schools we are open to both grammar (although chances of getting in now are slim, any tips) or independent great restaurants, great places to walk and generally good environment. We are a vibrant UK/Ghanaian family, is Sevenoaks a good choice? I would love to hear from you or any advice or any recommendations, so much appreciated. I love the advice everyone gives and I would be so grateful. Thank you

Sevenoaks is one of the least diverse places I know. You'll struggle to get in year entry to grammar. Can you fund them through private if necessary?at awkward ages for transfer though.

Very expensive, I live in Tonbridge, nice 15 minute drive away, much cheaper

I loved growing up there, and it is much more diverse than it used to be I think - I still live nearby. Because of the number of grammar schools in the area, the comps are actually quite crap. On the upside, there are LOTS of grammar schools between Sevenoaks, T Wells, and Tonbridge. If you can go private, even more lovely options for you, and I would say the private schools are very diverse! I like Tonbridge too, but the outskirts and surrounding villages are much nicer than the town IMO.

Def outskirts much prettier, tho if you have transport or health issues not so good, and of course pay more

Sevenoaks is actually diverse but perhaps. Or so much in colour eg lot of European/ South African/ Australian families. However people are generally well travelled, educated and worldly and you won't go wrong there. I don't know about state schools but my eldest went to Tonbridge - not very diverse but amazing school (his bf was Ghanaian) and second son at Sevenoaks - very diverse for the area.
