Overnight parking

Coming up to York with my daughter who is looking at the university to study archeology and looking for somewhere to park over night and easy to get into the city centre.

Plus is easy to drive to as I have never been to York before.

Where are you staying / sleeping?
Don't they have parking?
If not, presumably you would want to be near there?

Get parking with the hotel.

We are staying at the Lighthorseman on Fulford road, which I don’t think has parking but I will phone and check, and also check if I can park their earlier than check in.

I had planned to use the Park and Ride and get the bus in but on checking further they don’t allow overnight parking. (Which is annoying as it can be a great option that I have used on other uni visits)

I think all on-street parking there will be resident only. You’d be able to park on St George’s field overnight, not too far away but you’ll need to top up in the morning (and be aware what the river is doing/likely to do whilst you’re parked there). I guess you could park at the uni but again you’d need to top up in the morning.

If you can get the train I would suggest that’s a better option.
