Hello,
I have a 7month old baby boy and have really started to crave a social life again! I was wondering if anybody knew of a lovely babysitter, or if anyone had any tips on finding someone.
thanks
P rabbit

Where abouts are you?

Hi Mistlethrush,
I'm in Armley. I can pick up and drop off a sitter if necessary.

I know that the girls at ds's nursery all do baby sitting - is there a nursery near you that you could loiter near and ask some staff as they come out for their lunch breaks?

Alternatively, are there any mother and baby groups that you go to - can you ask them whether they use baby sitters and, if so, whether they might be prepared to take someone else on occasionally.

I have a really good baby sitter (she also walks our dog) - I don't know whether she'd be prepared to come out that far (she's in Meanwood) - I will ask her and let you know.

Thank you Mistlethrush. I will ask at my various groups and perhaps do some loitering too! Thanks also for asking your sitter, as I say I am more than happy to pick up and drop off if that helps.

I'll let you know if she says she's interested - she's currently recovering from an operation, so not in circulation until after Christmas...

my daughter could do it. she is 15 and we live in leeds 15. if you still need one let me know.

hi,
im interested in babysitting if you need someone still! im a mum in LS8 and haven't babysat for money since i was a teenager but i can get references from friends whose kids i look after informally.
im learning to drive and feeling the financial pinch cos its so pricey. and im not very good so its taking forever! which also means i don't have my own transport im afraid.
let me know.

Hi Soremuumy, thanks for the offer, where abouts are you?

Maebee are you in Chapeltown? We sometimes go to subdub at the west indian centre (we are not ecstasy taking teenagers, don't worry.) My boyfriend is also learning to drive - it's unbelievably pricey isn't it?! What would we do? Would I pick you up and pay for your taxi home?

hi,
sorry i lost this thread!
driving costs a ridiculous fortune its true!
i've nothing against ecstasy taking teenagers anyway, as long as they aren't driving at the same time
im Harehills/Chapeltown border, so not far from Chapeltown Rd. i could probably work out getting a bus to yours but imagine it would be too late to get a bus home after?
also, i must warn you, my partner is a musician and is often out at practice/gigs, so my availability might be limited!
you can email me direct on tabithabast at riseup.net if you like.
