For a grotto with a difference, you could try the Charlton Christmas Cracker event on 8 December at Charlton House.

There will be a children's land train decorated for christmas that stops at a 'station' which is Santa's grotto. The event also has live reindeer, a snow owl display, carol singers, panto cast, donkey rides, bouncy castle and lots of craft workshops - everything, including the land train/grotto is free of charge.

hi, went to superb grotto today at ruxley manor garden centre. cost £3.99 each, 2 adults go free with one payimg child.
it is ride on polar express train, (this is a room with seats and the sides move along and it rocks a bit to give children efect that we are moving), my 2yr old son was well impressed. then get off to see santa, & he gives you an age appropriate gift, & you can take your own pics. it was, i think well worth the money. This ride used to be the one in the co-op, dartford, b4 it closed last yr, if anyone remembers that. u dont need to book, we went at 330 today and had to q for 20 mins, but empty when we came out, 410pm. well recommended.

I am trying to find a Santa's grotto train. We went to Bishops Lydeard last year which was good, but would like a different venue for this year - any recommendations?
