Ahoy! We're the Literacy Pirates and we run a fantastical, pirate-themed educational programme for young people aged 9-13 that are falling behind at school.
We're looking for volunteers local to North London to join us at our after-school sessions in Haringey (639 High Road, N17 8AA) where you will be supporting young people with their reading and writing and championing their work as they become published poets, authors and podcast creators!
We're looking for people that are positive about social change and that love literacy. No experience working with young people is necessary as full training is given. Our in-person sessions will resume in September and we will likely be running virtual trainings over the summer.
