Moving to Amersham In Year Admission Process

Hello all,

I’m considering moving to Amersham (from London) very soon with my two children, a 9 year old and a 5 year old.

I’ve been looking at schools and note that most primary schools are split between Infant School and Junior School. This being the case, I’ll have 2 kids in 2 different schools.

However my main concern is that most of the schools in Amersham are, according to the Bucks council website, at full capacity.

Does anyone know how far the council could allocate a school?

I’ll be commuting to London (Liverpool Street) 3 times a week so I’m concerned that there won’t be any places near where we live and that I’d have to drive a long way out and quite possibly to 2 different schools (infant and junior).

Has anyone had experience in moving to Amersham and going through the in year admission process? How did it go?

Thanks
M

Hi,
I just came across your post from a couple of years ago.
I just wondered if you made the move and if so how did you get on with schools? We are hopefully moving from London to Amersham soon and I will need to do an in year transfer for my son who will be in year 1 and apply for reception for my daughter.
