Is Roehampton area safe to live with kids?

Hi there, my partner and I are considering moving to Alton Rd close to Putney Heath and hope to be starting a family soon. Have heard really mixed information about how safe the area is and in Roehampton in general - any views or advice on the area? Thanks xx

I used to live round there and never felt uneasy. Round Barnes Station at night was a bit scary but otherwise lovely.

I grew up in Barnes did my PGCE at Roehampton uni. Personally, I would suggest to try and go to Putney or East Sheen if you can, as they are nicer than Roehampton imho.

Both tbh!

I grew up on the Alton Estate/Danebury Ave please believe it is not a great area. To be honest it is just like any Estate really there is always good and bad. I would say if you could look further towards Putney rather than Roehampton.
