Hi and a big move for our family from Nottinghamshire! So looking for some advice, experience, recommendations of places to live within a decent commute to the city centre. We literally have no preferences other than travel and nice/family area and primary and secondary schools. So far we've looked at and liked areas of Tameside such as Stalybridge but also gone further north in Bury and Ramsbottom area and looked more over towards Whitefield/Wilmslow.... We not bothered if we are on the border either like Warrington, Congleton or even the high peaks. Just looking for local knowledge please. Thank you

I love Ramsbottom. If you can get over the name, it's a gorgeous place to live. Also Clitheroe seems a nice place to raise a family.
