Moving to kettering

Hi all

I was wondering if some of you could help me out. My husband and I have recently got separate further education opportunities one in Cambridge and the other in Birmingham

We are trying to move somewhere in between and wanted some advice on kettering - its in between and seems to be doable for the next four years for us.

Are there any areas we should avoid buying homes in? What areas do you recommend? We are looking at Barton seagrave and brambleside - are these good areas?

Some advice would be lovely - being closer to A14 would be ideal.

thank you

It depends on what you are after for a location to live? If it's just the ease of getting on the A14 Barton Segrave and it's big new build developments could be a good choice, it's going to be huge though but you'll be straight on the A14. If you want a place on the A14 that has more amenities to walk into perhaps look at Thrapston a bit further along the A14 that has more of small market town feel.

What we are looking for mainly is a safe area to live in kettering. We both have cars and don't mind driving to amenities like groceries etc as long as the area is safe and quiet.

No preference in terms of schools - we don't have children yet and when we do we will be moving back to Birmingham by the time this will be a factor to consider.

If you have any advise on areas in or around Kettering in between Birmingham and Cambridge it would be appreciated so I can make the scope of my housing search larger.

Currently only looking at barton sea grave and there really isn't much choice for our budget of 250k.

Thank you

Have a look at market Harborough, easy onto the A14 and a lovely market town.

Burton Latimer is similar to Barton Seagrave

Thank you for the replies - is there anywhere in particular that I should avoid? I am originally from Birmingham and I can’t imagine Kettering having as many unsafe areas in comparison but some advise would be appreciated

Where did you move to in the end OP and what did you think of Kettering?
