Altrincham Prep School vs Hale prep school

Hi my son has been offered a place at Altrincham Prep School this September, any thoughts views on APS would be much appreciated.

Between APS and Hale Prep, which one would you recommend? Which one is more academic and has better results for the entrance exams for the boys.

If you have time, I would seriously reconsider your options. Things are going crazy at the moment in APS. A lot of parents have pulled their children out because of the chaos. All senior management (Headteacher, deputy head of junior as well as deputy of infant) have all resigned. LOTS of teachers and boys have left in the last 2 years. Since getting news about the resignations, many more are looking at leaving. However the school was very sneaky and didn't inform parents until after the Easter holiday, meaning that parents are not able to give their terms notice : i.e they will lose their deposit and may need to pay a full terms worth of fees as well. Lots of parents are angry about that. Supposedly a new head is supposed to be put in but he's not going to be in post until December/January. How does a school cope with no senior management for that period of time? If you can get into a different school - do. We left last year due to various reasons (son not being challenged enough, reading books never bring changed until prompted - too many reasons to list). You are probably better off putting your son into a local state school at this rate. It will not be the school you have seen/visited.

Hi, do you know if Alttincham prep has improved? We are moving into the area and considering sending our 8 yo to APS. You are not the first person that has told me about the changes. I just wondered if things had settled down and changed for the better? Thank you
