New mum, new to MK, seeking friends!

Hi everyone, i'm Alexis, I'm 26 and I live in East MK. I had my baby boy Zachary on 11th September at MK General.

Altho I moved to MK about 2.5 years ago, it's been difficult making friends of my own age group as I work in my fiance's (small) family business in Leighton Buzzard.

I'm seeking friendly mums in order to meet locally, so that I can get out and about with my little one!

Is anyone interested in meeting up??

Thanks

Hi Alexis

I 33 and live in east MK too (Broughton). I know what you mean about finding it hard to meet people. I used to work with my husband and it can be a bit 'insular' when you work for a family business.

I don't work now as I have 3 children (7,3 & 1) and although I do try and chat to mums i see at school, its another step to actually meet up for a cup of tea or something.

I'm rubbish at going to mum & toddler groups etc as I can't bear the thought of walking in on my own and not knowing who to approach!
Let me know how its been going since October and if you're interested in meeting up for a cuppa or maybe even braving a mums & tots group together?!

I am in mk to we really should finally try and arrange a mumsnet meet up for mk...

my little ones are 10 and 4

threewisemonkeys · 09/01/2008 16:15

That would be good. There must be lots of people who move into the area and don't know anyone.

I've been here about 6 months and don't have any family in the area, so it would be great to get to know some other mums.

Hi there,

I'm new to Mumsnet, live in West MK, first baby due in August. We moved here last year and as I work from home I haven't met a great many people. If you guys are organising a meet-up I would love to come (if expectant Mums are also welcome!)

threewisemonkeys · 15/01/2008 13:00

perhaps we should put a note on the meet-ups section? one evening would probably be best as then we can include people who work as well as stay at home mums (+ we don't have to bring the kids along )

good idea though i think it may have been done before and never come to anything- worth a try though

it would be nice to try and contact 'oldhead' who started the thread back in Oct as she has obviously given up hope that anyone would respond! is there any way MN can contact her for us and get her back on here, then we can do it just between us - probably more chance of sorting out a convenient time between 4 or 5 of us
