Hello

I have just moved into the area (N7 so bordering Islington and Camden - easy walk to Kentish town or Tuffnel Park) and am wondering what you all do? I am now a SAHM (gave up my full time job because I hated it and wanted to spend time with my daughter) My FIl also had a stroke and now he is out of hospital, I look after him too.

Anyway, now I have my lovely girl all day, I want to find out about things I can do, where I can go with her. Any ideas?

I went to the toy library yesterday and found out about a few stay and play things but are there any farms? Nice friendly playgroups?

Also, what are the recommendations re School? I need to put her name down for a part time place from March when she turns 3 but don't know what the schools are like. My husbands knowledge is a bit out dated as his info is based on when he was at school in the area

Any info would be much appreciated.

Also, does anyone meet up from here? Or in need of a cafeine hit?

Helen

Hi Helcatt, I'm a bit out of your area but thought I'd say hi. There are a couple of city farms I think - one in Camden and one in N7.

I'm in Haringey and have a 6 month old son, and am currently on maternity leave. A group of people from here are planning to meet up for lunch in Crouch End on Thursday 22 November if that's of any interest to you, I think most of those planning to come have younger babies.

Again, it's out of your area but if you can get to the Burghley Road Under 5s Centre near Turnpike Lane tube (41 bus from Archway or 29 bus from Camden Town/Camden Road) Tuesday to Friday they apparently do low cost lunches for you and your child - and she can play while you chat to other parents and have coffee. I haven't been there on those days as I regularly go to Jolly Babies for under 2s.

Ooooooooooooohhhh

Could you let me know the details please? I have been working out a bit of a routine going to stay and play stuff and got to freightliners farm a few times to. But it is always good to try something different.

29 bus is easy for us and she does love a ride on a "big red bus" s might give the under 5's centre a try too

Thankyou

Hx

We're now meeting for lunch in the Maynard pub - apparently a regular haunt for mums with buggies - on Wednesday 21 November at 1 pm. I think some of us might be going to meet at the Clocktower, Crouch End Broadway, at 12.45. There's a whole thread making plans on Haringey Local.

You're welcome to email me on elkiedee @ yahoo dot co dot uk
