Hoping to relocate to Essex soon. We had explored extensively pre covid and thought colchester best suited us. I’ve seen properties online in wivenhoe now and not an area we had previously considered and now difficult to with lockdown.
What’s wivenhoe like? We have two primary aged DC.

Wivenhoe has a lovely seaside village feel to it, despite being close to Colchester.

Loads of nice walks along the river, Cockaynes Wood etc.

Millfields primary excellent.

Its own train station to London. Shop, pubs, doctor.

Other amenities in Colchester.

Roadworks in Colchester cause traffic headaches getting down Clingoe Hill in the mornings.

There's supposed to be a relief road going in to the A120 when they build the new houses north of Clingoe Hill - sure the plans are online somewhere.

Hello,

Can someone please let me know how easy is it to get my child admitted to a primary school in wivenhoe ?

We wouldn't be able to travel far / commute to drop and pick up children from other primary schools outside of wivenhoe if the council provides us a place outside of wivenhoe.

Are the 2 primary schools in wivenhoe (Millfields and Broomgrove) oversubscribed ? Can they accept new children in different years ?
Any thoughts and help will be appreciated.

Thanks
