Oban lifestyle

Hi,
I've been offered a post in Oban and I was wondering if anyone had any info or advice on what it's like to live there, what the community is like. I'm looking at moving up from the Peak District, so it's a fare hike to go. Any advice would be appreciated.

I know it’s hard to find accommodation! I think it’s a nice town with lovely scenery around. folk are friendly.

Well it depends on what your work is. If it’s public sector you’ll never be off duty so to speak.
One of my favourite places to visit but too remote to live in for me despite only being a 2 and a bit drive to Glasgow.
