hello I'm looking for a little advice on Ben Rhydding/ Ilkley schools. Following this whole global pandemic blurgh...we've decided to hot foot it from the capital and push house prices up in the north. We've decided on Ilkley...congratulations Ilkley! But I'm looking to apply for schools in November (receptions class) and as no tours are available (global pandemic again) and we don't know anyone in the area with children.. we'd love a bit of local knowledge outside of Ofsted and SAT results.

I don't know this area but the Local boards of mumsnet can be totally deserted so in case no one more knowledgeable comes by, my advice is to search for the pta groups for various local schools request membership of any that are private, and have a snoop around there.

I would also say congratulations on choosing to move to Ilkley! We moved here almost 2 years ago (To Ben Rhydding) and absolutely love it - there’s a great community feel and amazing surrounding countryside with loads of walks etc. It’s also a great place for children and meeting other mums so I’m sure you’ll settle in very quickly!
