I know I will be slated as mumsetters love Harpenden but we moved from London to Harpenden and we don’t like it! I’ve lived here for 3 years so given it a good go but it’s too boring and quiet. To me Harpenden is full of Hyacinth Buckets and neurotic competitive mums driving around in 4by4s. All everyone cares about is “what you (or your husband) do” and how much money they have made on their house.
You also have drive to do anything remotely interesting
We came from Angel/Islington which was bustling and cultural
Are there any places in the Hertfordshire area which are more lively and multicultural but not too chavvy /rough?
