Moving area - Reading to Herefordshire

Hi,
We are looking to move house from Reading to Herefordshire. We have not much experience of the area. We are looking around Leominster, Ross on Wye, Ledbury. Can anyone suggest any good areas to look at? We need to be near a good primary school too. Are there ones anyone would recommend? Can anyone recommend a good nursery or child minder?
Thanks.

Ross on Wye is a lovely place to live and really nice for kids. All of the primary schools around the town (and local villages) are good.

I've visited and seem to remember Leominster (Lemster) being quite 'local'. Ledbury is better connected eastwards. Don't know Ross except that it's pretty. It is a properly rural county, slower paced in many ways. Muddy.

Did you ever make the move? I am moving from Reading to Leominster in the new year so would love to know how you are finding it in comparison. We are eventually looking at buying in the area (not specifically Leominster)

@seventytimesseven I grew up near Leominster and my parents are still local. What's taking you there? Where abouts? I find the scene changes dramatically every mile or so!!

My parents live there, we are staying with them for a few months while we build up more funds for a house deposit
