Tips for indoor activities to keep toddlers amused in winter

Hello Hackney mums!

Now that winter is approaching I was hoping that some of you could give me some tips on things to do/places to go which will keep my active two year old daughter occupied during the winter months. Was with a friend and her little boy on Friday afternoon and they were both so fed-up as it was raining and couldn't go to the park after lunch. We tried the drop in at the Seebright but was really disappointed with it, not very stimulating and totally dominated by a childminder ignoring her charges and moaning about her OFSTED inspection, we felt really awkward.

Any tips would be really welcome! Feels like this is our first 'active' winter and my dd can rip through painting/playdough/baking in a morning!

Hey stargazers

Have you tried Zoomaround? It's one of those indoor play places with a ball pit etc. It's at 46 Milton Grove, Stoke Newington N16 8QY. Check out their website here

Hey mrs macleod! We did try zoomaround once, but she was much smaller then and I felt a bit intimidated by some of the older children rushing around. Will need to give it another try I think.

there's a nice 1 oclock club in Clissold Park, also at Highbury Fields

on Friday mornings there's a free session at Grasshoppers, in Stamford Hill, with a great musician

You don't say where you are in Hackney but... Kidzmania off Lower Clapton Rd is the east side version of Zoomaround and much bigger - best in the day when the big kids are at school! surestart has a big programme of events on - e.g. music and play, messy play.. Millfields Centre has a full programme. Try looking for notices in the local libraries for groups too.
