where are all the babies?

Hi, i've recently moved to Upper Norwood and have been looking for baby groups to take my 5-month-old to. I've tried a couple of the toddler groups around Crystal Palace but they have very few (if any) babies so it's been hard for either of us to make friends. Where do the mums and babies go?

Hi mobo, I'm in thornton heath with 3 month old and am interested to know what people recommend as I'd also like to meet up with some local mums and babies. We have actually done very little venturing out so far but I know we should be doing more! I have been thinking of going along to an NCT mother and baby (I think) group on Purley Way on Thursdays.
There was also a Croydon MN meetup recently so maybe people would be up for another one of those?

Thanks for the all the info. I was hoping to find something within walking distance but I might give the NCT group a try. Could always do a bit of shopping while I'm down that way

Mobo I went with my antenatal friends to the Heshima centre on Mondays they have an open morning on mondays and wednesdays.
It was nice although we had the youngest children there. There was a play area with toys/ paint etc and they have a ball pool although you have to be 18 months to go in it.
We rotate round each others houses so may not go again for a bit.

Hi there is a new playspace opening up on Purley way in November - The coloades www.kidspaceadventures.comI think they have a gymboree at the romford branch so it would be great if they did that here too. There really is very little for babies in this area apart from playgroups in church halls which can sometimes be good. My baby always loves the song time. The Library in Croydon does a rhymetime for kiddies although I have not been there. If you contact Childrens Information Service in Croydon they will send you a list of groups and times. Hope that helps. Also, the one o clock club in Crystal Palace is good for 2+. As far as I know there is also a tumbletots group in a variety of locations around the area at different times of the week.
