New to Netmums and hoping to find some guidance. We are thinking of moving to Sutton, and are thinking of the Carshalton area. We have 3 dc and it is important to have good primaries and secondaries around. Barrow Hedges seemed like a nice school, but would appreciate any advice on local primaries and secondaries.

You can have a look at the stats on there. If you’re in Carshalton Beeches, then Stanley Park Infants and Juniors are very good. For secondaries, you’ll have the grammars, Carshalton Boys’ and Girls’ or the recently opened Harris in South Sutton. Oaks Park High went downhill but it’s had a new head for the past 2-3 years so it’s improving.

Glenthorne and Greenshaw are very good but the catchments maybe less appealing as areas to live.

Have you also considered the Cheam side of Sutton? Cheam High is very good, Harris would still be an option and there are many fab primaries, eg the Avenue, Cuddington Croft and some others (north of Cheam Village).
