Cottenham VC or Swavesey VC for Y9?

Hope you are well and staying safe. :)

I need some school advice, please. My son and I are moving to Willingham and I am not sure which secondary school to choose for him. He will be in Y9 this Sept. He needs a place to challenge him accademically and to offer advanced classes. I also hope for a place with nice kids where he won't be bullied and will be able to find friends.
I unfortunately can't afford public school so the choice is between Cottenham Village College and Swavesey Village College.

Could you please help me with honest opinion?

Either should be fine; Cottenham is the catchment school so probably better for making friends who live in Willingham. Bus transport provided to Cottenham; don't know about Swavesey.

We're facing a similar choice and would be interested in any other comments if anyone has experience of either school?

Have you checked whether both have spaces? Both have been full in some year groups in recent times, and there's no point spending ages deciding if only one has spaces.
I really wouldn't worry about sending my child to either, from what I know of them.
