Looking for pals for my son

We are moving from Scotland to Penrith over the summer and my son will be going into Y6 at Beaconside. Before coronavirus there were plans for him to join the class before the end of this term to meet his new classmates.
Obviously this isn't going to happen but I'd really like him to meet - safely, of course - some children from the area before term starts in September. Does anyone know any summer clubs that might still be running or other ways to make friends? Thanks.

Sorry im not in penrift but i did move to scotland a couple of years ago. I just wanted to reasure you within a few weeks the kids had made friends with the neighbours and at school. The people are friendly and im sure he will be fine . Have you checked any local fb pages. Sport groups ect although i doubt they will be open now but you might be able to sign him up for later.
