Best place to live in/Near East Grinstead

We are hoping to move from outer London to East Grinstead. Does anyone have any advice on areas to look for and those to avoid?

Haven’t been there much recently but I grew up there, or rather just outside Forest Row. That’s a lovely little village although it has gone quite expensive now. Very artsy/hippie vibe with the Forest on your doorstep. Have heard though that it can be a little clique-ey but have no idea how true that is. Really enjoyed growing up there though. Sorry that’s possibly not much help but thought I’d post as you’ve not had much response.

My son is of secondary school age and wondered what are the best schools in this area?

Is this area the flight path to Gatwick and if yes, how noisy are the aeroplanes?
