Family friendly areas in/around Newcastle

Hi guys, I am looking to move close to or around Newcastle. I work in Longbenton and I have two children, one that’s 7 and the youngest is 8 months. Is there any areas that are more family friendly would you say? I have been looking at Kenton and Gateshead so far. Thank you in advance ☺️

Forgot to say I do rely on public transport to get to work so ideally I would prefer as little travelling time as possible to get home to my children 👶

Cramlington? It's a 15 minute train journey to Newcastle (if you get the fast trains), or a 40 minute cycle. There are several primary schools that you could look at, and there are shops etc.

oh, I misread your original post. It is a 30 minute bus ride according to google maps from cramlington to longbenton, or a 30 minute bike ride x
