Moving advice on areas Gloucestershire

Hi, we are looking to move to Gloucestershire. My Grandparents lived in Dursley and I know that area and part very well. Unfortunately it's out of our budget to live in Dursley but I really want to live in the Gloucestershire county.

Could I have recommendations on on other areas in Gloucestershire. Villages, no towns. We won't need schools now. Ideally nearish to a train station and local shop.

We were looking at Cinderford but after reading comments on here that it's a tough area not so sure?

We are moving from Suburban London.

Any advice and local experience very welcome. Our budget would be £250k ideally a 3 bedroom property.

Thank you 🤗.

Cinderford town is rough, some nice villages in that area though, I like the area near the Herefordshire boarder, Weston under Penyard sort of area. Lydbrook, Drybrook are ok, so are Whitecroft and Parkend. Only train station is Lydney
