Breast Lump

Princesstandy · 14/09/2007 12:42

I have desovered a small pea like lump in my right breast - this would eb the 4th (I think) that I have had - all previous have been benign.
I am relictant to go running to the surgery and I am considering just waiting until after my period (anytime soon) to reassess the situation.
Is this wise - am I niave to think it's nothing duet to my past?

Hiya Princesstandy, just saw your message, and wanted to say that you are not naive to think it's probably nothing because of the past but that you should still go to the surgery as soon as possible just to be on the safe side. The doctor would far rather be able to tell you 20 times that there is no problem than once that if you had come earlier the outlook would be much better. Please try not to worry but do get it checked out quickly (remember there may be a wait for doctor or consultants etc and your period may be delayed especially if you are stressed)and I hope you will soon have all doubts laid to rest. You could always ring NHSDirect and ask them what they think. Have you posted on the main Mumsnet Health board? - there will be people there that know more than me. Best wishes and sympathetic hugs to you as things like this are always scary even though I'm sure there will be nothing to worry about.
