Hello Mumsnetters, we're a family with two DC in Reception and Y3, considering a move to Dorking. We may have a place at St Joseph's. We love the town and countryside but wanted some lowdown on how it is for families, are there strong groups of parents, what is the social life like? There is some worrying consensus here on Mumsnet about Dorking beign boring / dull. Obvs we can't tell from our visits, so any views would be appreciated, particularly from those who moved there from London. Thank you!

It’s very sweet and twee but nothing much other than beautiful countryside.
It’s miles from any decent shopping and the trains to London take an hour in reality.
It is dull but in a pretty way.
