Nice place to live in Colchester

Hi,

We are planing to move to Colchester soon and just wondering what place would suit us best. My Husband would be sometimes going to London for work. So near a train station would be great however not necessary.

Mostly looking for a calm, nice area with close shops around (Supermarkets - Aldi, Lidl).

A good nursery might be good in the future as well as a nice park.

Is public transport reliable in colchester ?
Would it be easy to get into town with the bus?

A few suggestion would be really helpful :)

Lexden, Pretygate, Stanway are all good areas with schools easy access to A12 or the Station, Busses are good for town. I live in The area of Lexden called Poets corner, lots of Bungalows & detached houses, close to Lexden Park & Woods. Aldi, Lidl, CoOp,Sainsbury's,Budgons all in the area.
