Moving to Marden

Hello everyone - I'm new here so apologies if this topic has been covered recently. I'm currently living in Bromley with my husband and three year old son. We're looking at moving out further into Kent and are considering Marden. My son will be starting school next year and so we want to be settled in good time to put applications in to schools. My husband will be commuting daily into Cannon St and I work from home most days but have to go up to various places in London a few times a month. I'd be really grateful for some info about the village - whether people have found it easy to make friends there, what the local area is like etc. I've read previous threads but they're a few years out of date now and I know there's been a lot of building work there recently. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello-i have just come across this thread, so maybe late! We moved here in 2017, just outside, so not in village itself. I'm not massively social-may change when my daughter starts school-but the village is great, friendly shops etc. There are a lot of new developments plus potential for a much larger development though nothing has been decided and there is a lot of local push back. Haven't been on the trains for a while (!) But always got a seat in the morning and if came from.charing cross, always got a seat in the evening. Train reliability standard really, not dreadful. But, lovely countryside and other villages around but close to amenities of Maidstone and T wells (which I love). V glad I moved here esp with more home working looking likely.
