Apologies as there seems to be a lot of school chat however I am looking for advice on applying for Cliftonhall Junior School for my son. He is 21 months and currently in a fab private nursery 1 day a week. The nursery is in partnership with Edinburgh council with the government funded hours which will be applicable next year when he is 3.
My question is how soon can I register him for primary and how realistic will he get a place if I didn’t put him into CH pre school? My husband and I like the flexibility of the current nursery being open 52 weeks of the year and opening hours are 7.30-6pm which is perfect for fitting around work.
Having read on previous posts, it seems to be general practise that the only way to ensure a guaranteed place would be from nursery however I’m not sure if that means from age 3 or is it still enough time from age 4 and him do the 1 year before school?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
