IGS: Durham - has anyone any experience of this school?

I am considering this school for my son, we haven't got as far as applying yet but wondering if anyone has any experience of it?

It sounds a bit too good to be true and doing a search on Mumsnet only yielded a few negative comments about it!

Has anyone any local info, we are not from Durham so aren't very well informed.

One of my close friends used to work with the leadership there at their previous schoil. The school they ran was put in to special measures and lots of staff ended up being made redundant. She says she wouldn't ever send her kids there...
