Myself and my husband are looking to move to Stroud this year. We're ex-Londoners who have been living in North Oxfordshire for the last 5 years. It's never gelled and has been really hard to make friends because there are few outsiders and everyone already has a set of friends. It's also a bit backward in outlook (sorry if anyone is from here originally). It would be good to know how many of you are local and how many have moved to the area? We're so keen to make friends but worry it will be hard to 'infiltrate'! We have a daughter currently in Reception so I'm hoping we'll meet other parents but I know in her current school, whilst they're all lovely, nobody is hugely motivated to spend time with us as they already have busy social lives - argh!
Also, any primary school recommendations would be fab.
